How Does the Packing Service Work?

Packing Service

Having your house packed up for you can make your move faster, simpler and less stressful. A professional crew will visit you the day before your move and pack everything. They will have with them all the packing materials needed for you move. It is a easy task : You tell them what to pack, they pack it. Packing service will make your move easier and quicker than if you do it yourself.

There are some things you can make the packing service (and unpacking service) go more easier and smoothly. Get rid of the items you don’t want to move before the packing crew arrives. That way there won’t be any confusion what to get packed. Put remotes with their components, and be sure that the items you want to be packed together are well prepared. Take the time to pack your belongings that you want to take with you, including valuables items like jewelry and small electronics, you can take them with yourself or you can label them “First Night” so that you can find them easier after the packing is done. Mark the fragile items, like clocks, antiques, etc., for the packing crew, so that they can pack them appropriately and be carful with them.

During the packing service you may want to give some basic instructions to the crew. You can tell them how you would like them to label the boxes. That way you will have an easier time unpacking in your new home. And it may be helpful if you are there during the packing service to answer any questions that come up.

If you choose a full service move, your items will be unpacked for you and all the boxes removed. You will still need to put belongings away, and if you didn’t specify what to pack together, you may have a hard time finding things like remotes and parts. Again, it may be helpful to be at the unpacking, and provide direction on what goes where.

If you’re interested in packing services or a full service move, contact your agent. And even if you decide to do your packing and unpacking by yourself, your agent can still deliver all the boxes and packing materials you need.
